QA ENGINEER – £45,000 – CENTRAL LONDON (Euston)

CUCUMBER, WEBDRIVER, AGILE TESTING PRACTICES

A QA Engineer is required by a leading Publishing House based in Central London (close to Euston Station) who provide a suite of bespoke Publishing Platforms within the fields of Scientific / BioMedical Research.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SUCCESSFUL QA ENGINEER

  • Develop automated test frameworks and cases for new functionality
  • Both non-functional and functional testing – using tools like WebDriver, Cucumber etc.
  • Closely work with other engineers, product owners and designers to define and implement unit, acceptance, integration and performance tests.
  • Heavily assisting the automated execution of test suites to provide quick feedback to the team.
  • Complete manual and exploratory testing to successfully identify issues and gaps in automated regression test cases.
  • Advocate good testing practices for Agile projects including:
    • Writing clean, well-written and re-usable test code
    • Eliciting Requirements
    • Defining acceptance criteria with the team / stakeholders

SKILLS / EXPERIENCED REQUIRED FOR THE SUCCESSFUL QA ENGINEER

  • Substantial commercial experience of working as a QA Engineer
  • A Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or similar technical degree from a strong university/Computer Science department or equivalent demonstrable technical knowledge
  • Strong commercial experience working with languages like Java / JavaScript, C/C++, Python, Shell etc
  • Good commercial experience working with automation testing tools, such as WebDriver, Cucumber etc
  • Good knowledge of data modelling, databases and SQL
  • Ability to self-motivate and work well within a team
